Asymmetry of the two mainstem bronchi
-The diameter of the left mainstem bronchus is smaller than that of the right mainstem bronchus.
-The cartilageous rings of the distal trachea seem to be incomplete (missing left part).
-Associated excessive dynamic collapse of the left mainstem bronchus during expiration.
